Roundup: Hong Kong stocks close 1.51 pct lower

Hong Kong stocks moved down 365. 03 points, or 1.51 percent, to close on Monday at 23,738.49 points after Shanghai stocks plunged around 8 percent amid crackdown on brokerages.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 23,590.05 and 24, 049.55. Turnover totaled 127.90 billion HK dollars (about 16.50 billion U.S. dollars).
The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index ended down 600.89 points, or 4.98 percent, to close at 11,475.85.
Three sub-indices lost ground with the Properties ended down 1. 16 percent, the Finance moved down 2.75 percent and the Commerce and Industry ended down 0.40 percent. One sub-indice gained ground with the Utilities moved up 1.05 percent.
The Banking giant HSBC, which accounts for the largest weighting of the Hang Seng Index, edged down 0.36 percent to 69.95 HK dollars.
Bank of East Asia, one of the largest local banks in Hong Kong, ended down 1.12 percent to 30.80 HK dollars.
Local bourse operator HKEX moved down 1.52 percent to 174.70 HK dollars.
China Mobile, China's dominant mobile carrier, ended down 0.87 percent to 97.00 HK dollars, while another Chinese telecom giant China Unicom moved up 0.87 percent to 11.64 HK dollars.
For the local property stocks, Sun Hung Kai, one of HK's largest property developer by market value, ended down 1.40 percent to 119.60 HK dollars; Cheung Kong properties, owned by billionaire Li Ka-shing, moved down 0.57 percent to 140.30 HK dollars.
As for mainland-based financial stocks, China Construction Bank, the country's second largest bank which accounts for the third largest weighting of the Hang Seng Index, fell 3.76 percent to 6. 16 HK dollars.
ICBC, the world's largest bank by market value, moved down 4.05 percent with 5.45 HK dollars. Bank of China slumped 5.86 percent to 4.18 HK dollars.
As for energy stocks, China's top refiner Sinopec ended down 2. 10 percent to 6.06 HK dollars. PetroChina, the country's largest oil and gas producer, fell 2.52 percent to 8.50 HK dollars. (1 U.S. dollar equals 7.75 HK dollars) Endi
