Over a dozen people mostly police were killed and injured as a suicide car bomb targeted a convoy of security forces in the southern Helmand province on Sunday, spokesman for provincial government Omar Zawak said. "Three police were killed and 10 others including civilians sustained injuries as a terrorist driving an explosive-borne car blew himself up next to a convoy of security forces at 02:00 p.m. local time today," Zawak told reporters here.

He also added that the bloody incident occurred on the road linking provincial capital Lashkar Gah to the troubled Sangin district.

More details would be released later after completion of investigation, Zwak added. Endi
