Eight-time Brazilian champions Palmeiras defeated Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng 3-1 in a friendly here on Saturday.

Argentine midfielder Walter Montillo opened the scoring for the visitors at the Allianz Park before Leandro Pereira's header made it 1-1.

Lucas gave the hosts the lead with a deflected effort after Allione's assist before Cristaldo fired in an unstoppable shot 15 minutes from time.

Shandong Luneng will now travel to Rio de Janeiro for a friendly against Botafogo at the Engenhao stadium, which will host athletics at the 2016 Olympics.
