Suicide bomber kills 5, injures 10 in NE Nigeria

Xinhua, January 17, 2015 Adjust font size:

A suicide bomber killed at least five people and injured ten others on Friday in the northeast Nigerian city of Gombe, emergency workers said.

Umar Shittu, spokesman of the National Emergency Management Agency of Gombe, said workers have evacuated six bodies and ten injured.

The official said there could be more bodies because the market is usually populated.

No group has claimed responsibility for the bomb, but similar attacks were frequently carried out by the Islamist group Boko Haram.

Thousands of people have been killed in Boko Haram's four-year insurgency in Nigeria, Africa's most populous nation. Endi
