Indian stocks close higher

Indian stocks surged on Thursday with the BSE benchmark index Sensex closing at 28,075.55 points, up 728.73 points or 2.66 percent from the previous close of 27,346. 82 points, after a key rate cut by the central bank.

All the sectors were trading in the green. The rally was led by banking, auto, capital goods, oil and gas, metal, IT and consumer durables sectors.

The central bank, the Reserve of India, on Thursday announced cutting the repo rate by 25 basis points to stimulate investment. Endi
