(Sports)Oz cricketer Brett Lee announces retirement

Xinhua, January 15, 2015 Adjust font size:

Former Australia Test fast bowler Brett Lee on Thursday announced that he will retire from all forms of cricket following the conclusion of the Big Bash League (BBL) this year.

Lee, 38, stepped down from international cricket in 2012 but has continued to play the Twenty20 format, which involves 20 overs per team, per game, instead of the usual 50 overs per team, per game in the one-day format.

The Australian played 76 Tests, taking 310 wickets at 30.81, but was more successful in the one-day international arena, claiming 380 wickets at 23.36 in 221 matches.

Lee will see out the remainder of the BBL with the Sydney Sixers. Endi
