Berlinale 2015 unveils 8 more competition films

The 65th Berlin International Film Festival, also called the Berlinale, announced on Wednesday eight more films selected for the Competition Program.

Iranian director Jafar Panahi and U.S. director Werner Herzog, frequenters of the Berlinale, will show their latest films "Taxi" and "Queen of the Desert."

Polish director Malgorzata Szumowska, who caused a sensation in 2013 with a religious drama, returns with "Body" in the competition this year.

Benoit Jacquot, who opened the Berlinale with the film "Farewell, My Queen" in 2012, will come with "Diary of a Chambermaid."

German actor, writer and director Sebastian Schipper will present his fourth directorial effort "Victoria" in the competition.

Other announced competition films also include "Big Father, Small Father and Other Stories" by the Vietnamese director Phan Dang Di and "Gone with the Bullets" by Chinese director Jiang Wen.

The Berlinale runs from Feb. 5 to 15, 2015. It selected the first seven films for the Competition Program on Dec. 15, which include the new films of Andreas Dresen, Peter Greenaway and Terrence Malick. The opening film will be "Nobody Wants the Night" by Isabel Coixet.
