Garnett suspended for one game and Howard fined

Xinhua, January 14, 2015 Adjust font size:

The NBA announced Tuesday that Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Garnett has been suspended for one game for head-butting Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard and Howard has been fined 15,000 US dollars for pushing Garnett during the fight.

"It is an emotional game," Nets head coach Lionel Hollins said. "I am not getting into why Garnett did what he did. It is an emotional game, and you compete and things happen and tempers flare up a little bit and you have to pay the consequences when it is over."

Garnett was ejected against the Rockets after head-butting Howard during their fight, which took place in the first quarter of Monday's game in Brooklyn. Endi
