Palmeiras sign Brazil under-21 winger on loan

Xinhua, January 14, 2015 Adjust font size:

Brazilian giants Palmeiras have signed Brazil under-21 international Kelvin on a year-long loan from Porto, local media reported on Tuesday.

The winger will arrive at the club later this week for a medical exam before an official announcement is made, according to Folha de S. Paulo.

The 21-year-old has made just 14 first-team appearances for Porto since his 2011 move from Parana Clube.

He has spent most of his time in the Portuguese club's B team and on loan at Rio Ave.

Kelvin is the 13th player to join Palmeiras so far in the off-season as new coach Oswaldo de Oliveira overhauls his squad.

The eight-time Brazilian champions narrowly avoided relegation last year after being promoted from the Serie B in 2013. Endi
