French stock market index up 1.47 pct on Tuesday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 gained an advance of 1.47 percent to close at 4,290.28 points on Tuesday, up 62.04 points.

Investors' strong wish for the quantitative easing policy from the European Central Bank pushed up the CAC 40 Tuesday. At closing, 36 of the 40 selected companies gained advance.

The top three gainers were EDF, up 5.0 percent, Veolia Environnement, up 4.14 percent, and Carrefour, up 3.84 percent.

The four companies which lost today were Gemalto, down 2.81 percent, Capgemini, down 1.08 percent, Legrand, down 0.49 percent, and ArcelorMittal, down 0.32 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 gained an advance of 1.18 percent to close at 4,228.24 points, up 49.17 points. Endit
