Indian capital to go to polls next month

Xinhua, January 12, 2015 Adjust font size:

Indian capital will go to polls for local legislature on Feb. 7 with 13 million people expected to vote, said election officials Monday.

Election Commission said the election results will be known before Feb. 15 after counting the votes on Feb. 10, it said.

"Thirteen million voters will vote to elect candidates from 70 constituencies in the national capital. 11,763 polling stations have been set up across Delhi," chief election commissioner V.S. Sampath said.

Delhi is under presidential rule now after a short-lived government by the anti-graft AAP party last year. Endi
