One worker was killed and four others were trapped in an avalanche in northern Turkey on Saturday, private Dogan news agency reported.

The avalanche took place in a construction site of a hydroelectric plant in Caykara town of Trabzon province, the report said, adding that the rescue operation has been launched. (Turkey-Avalanche)

TRIPOLI -- Five soldiers and eight militants were killed on Saturday in clashes between the Libyan army and militant groups in eastern city of Darna, said a military official.

"The clashes between the army and the Mujahideen Shura Council militants took place in Ain Mara area, near Darna, injuring about 15 people from both sides," Colonel Ahmed Al-Mismari, spokesman of the Libyan army, told Xinhua. (Libya-Clashes)

BEIRUT -- Seven people were killed and 22 others were wounded on Saturday in a twin suicide bomb attack in Lebanon's northern port city of Tripoli, the National News Agency (NNA) reported.

According to the NNA report, a suicide bomber blew himself up at a popular cafe in the city before another suicide bomber trigger the attack when people were gathering to help the injured in the first bombing. (Lebanon-Bombing attack)

ANKARA -- The female suspect wanted in the Paris terror attacks is believed to have entered Turkey earlier this month and is now possibly in Syria, according to media reports on Saturday.

Hayat Boumeddiene, who is considered to be connected with a spree of terrorist attacks in Paris, is believed to have entered Turkey on January 2nd, CNN quoted a Turkish prime ministry source as saying. (Turkey-Paris-Attack) Endit
