Uzbekistan beat DPR Korea 1-0 AFC Asian Cup

A goal in the 62nd mintue from forward Igor Sergeev was enough to give Uzbekistan their first victory at 2015 Asian Cup as they beat DPR Korea 1-0 in the Group B opener here on Saturday.
Uzbekistan, the 2011 Asian Cup semi-finalists, dominated the game with better techniques and build-ups, but DPR Korean is spiritually tougher. Both teams were attacking each tentatively in the first half.
Uzbekistan missed at least three scoring opportunities in the first half, and the best one happened in the 16th minutes when Timur Kapadze's close-range header was denied by the right goalpost.
So Hyon-uk from DPR Korea penetrated deep into Uzbekistan's box in the 44th minute, but he was used up and fell on the ground.
After a boring first half, both teams started to try long-distance shot under a heavy rain in order to break the ice.
Igor Sergeev' header broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute by receiving the pass from the former Asian player of the year Server Djeparov.
DPR Korean couldn't find an effective way to cope with Uzbekistan's defence.
DPR Korea nearly seized a last gasp equalizer in the dying minutes before the final whistle, but striker Pak Kwang-ryong 's unstoppable header following a corner was blocked by Ignatiy Nesterov before the ball cross the goalline.
The defeat of DPR Korea means their unbeaten record in their last 14 competitive internaionals was terminated. Endi
