French stock market index down 1.90 pct on Friday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 experienced a decrease of 1.90 percent to close at 4,179.07 points on Friday, down 81.12 points.

At closing, 35 of 40 selected companies experienced decrease.

Friday's top three gainers were Veolia Environnement, up 1.41 percent, Alcatel-Lucent, up 1.10 percent, and Valeo, up 0.85 percent.

The three companies which lost most on Friday were Carrefour, down 3.42 percent, BNP Paribas, down 3.36 percent, and Sanofi, down 3.28 percent.

In previous trading day, Jan. 8, the CAC 40 strongly rebounded by 3.59 percent to close at 4,260.19 points, up 147.46 points. Endit
