France's trade deficit narrows in November 2014 on falling energy purchases

Falling purchases, mainly, of energy products helped France to narrow its trade gap by 25.6 percent in November to 3.2 billion euors (about 3.8 billion U.S. dollars), customs figures showed on Friday.
By the end of November 2014, the cumulated trade deficit stood at 50.6 billion euros in total, compared to 56.3 billion euros a year ago, according to data issued by customs services.
At the end of November 2014, France recorded 37.2 billion euros foreign sales thanks to favorable performance in aeronautical and better trade results within Asian markets.
In fact, Airbus sold 36 aircraft worth 2.8 billion euros, up from 29 units offered in October which generated 2.49 billion euros.
Over the period, the country's imports went down by 1.9 percent to at 40.4 billion euros on slowing buying of petroleum products. (1 euro = 1.19 U.S. dollars) Endit
