One Chinese killed in construction site robbery in Kenyan capital

Xinhua, January 9, 2015 Adjust font size:

Unknown gunmen Thursday night killed a Chinese construction worker and injured three others in a robbery at their site in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, police sources told Xinhua Friday.

Kilimani divisional police commander Peter Katam said the male worker was clobbered to death after he resisted demands by a gang that had raided their site along a busy road in the city.

According to Katam, the gang of seven raided the site and demanded cash and mobile phones.

"In the process, they beat up the workers who resisted, and the victim was one of those injured and succumbed to injuries in hospital," said Katam.

The gang later grabbed a laptop and unknown amount of money from the site and escaped on foot, said the police commander.

No arrest or recovery has been made so far. Endi
