Vietnam moves up four places in January FIFA ranking

The Vietnam men' s national football team jumped four places to the 133rd position in the world ranking and the 19th in Asia, according to the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking for January 2015 made public on its website on Friday.

In Southeast Asia, Vietnam maintained the second place with 218 points, three points less than the Philippines who are leading in the region.

Although being champions at the 2014 Southeast Asian Football Championship - AFF Suzuki Cup, Thailand dropped two places to 147th in the world ranking and sit fourth in Southeast Asia with 182 points, 18 points less than Myanmar who currently ranks third.

In Asia, Iran (51st in the world) remained on top with 588 points, followed by Japan (54th in the world) with 563 points and the South Korea (69th in the world) with 487 points respectively.

The world top ten rankings have not seen any changes with Germany, Argentina and Colombia maintaining their top-three places with 1,725, 1,538 and 1,450 points, respectively. Endi
