BiH mourns victims killed in attack on French newspapaer

Sarajevo residents, journalists and officials on Thursday paid respect to victims in the terrorist attack on satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

Some put candles and pencils on the ground near the building of the Embassy of France in central Sarajevo. Among the others was former Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to France Slobodan Soja.

"France is a country which is very proud of their freedoms... France will remain the same country and we in BiH need to show we are totally against this barbaric act," said Soja.

French Ambassador to Bosnia Ms Claire Bodonyi expressed her gratitude for solidarity shown by citizens of Sarajevo.

"What happened in France is an attack on liberty...France will remain united and continue its fight against terrorism and extremism," said Bodonyi.

Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH tightened the security measures at facilities of the embassy and residence of France in Sarajevo.

At least 12 people were killed when masked and armed men on Wednesday stormed into the headquarters of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris. Enditem
