Singapore PM Sends Condolence on Landslide in Gansu

Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong sent a condolence letter to Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao on the landslide in Gansu, Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Thursday.
Lee said he is deeply saddened to learn about the tragic loss of lives and the destruction caused by the landslide in Zhouqu County in Gansu Province.
"On behalf of the Government of Singapore and all Singaporeans, I would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the government and people of China on this calamity, especially those who have lost loved ones," he said.
"Singapore stands ready to respond if there is any way we can assist. I wish those injured a speedy recovery and hope that the affected region will return to normalcy before long." Lee added.
