China Targets 150 Mln 3G Users by 2011

China plans to have 150 million 3G mobile telecommunication users by 2011, with total investment in 3G development of 400 billion yuan (US$58.6 billion), the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said in a statement on its Web site Thursday.
The 3G base stations would exceed 400,000 by 2011, covering all cities above prefecture level, most counties and towns, main highways, and tourist spots, according to the statement.
