Chinese Scientist Awarded UNESCO's Avicenna Prize

Chinese scientist Qiu Renzong was awarded the 2009 Avicenna Prize for Ethics in Science on Monday by the Paris-based United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The committee of the Avicenna Prize laureated Professor Qiu as a recognition of his research in the ethics of science and steadfast public advocacy of ethical issues related to science.
He will receive the prize at a ceremony on December 18 at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, the organization said in a statement.
