Beijing Holds Last Rehearsal for National Day Gala

Beijing held the last large-scale rehearsal on Friday for China's 60th anniversary on October 1st.
56 formations of civilian performers and an assortment of military equipment were on display during the practice.
The Beijing municipal government has suggested that businesses, schools and other organizations close during the afternoon of the main event because traffic restrictions will cover 10 of the capital's 18 districts.
Zhang Lianfa, a Beijing resident said he is very proud for the development of China over the past few decades.
"In China we say that every 60 years there is a cycle, so, celebrating the national day in this year is very special. The motherland gets greater and stronger every day. I am truly happy."
More than 200 thousand people will be involved in the military parade and performances during the celebrations on October 1st.
Li Shaojun is an instructor with an army unit which will take part the military parade.
"The parade will consist of various kinds of soldiers from the People's Liberation Army, and our training has been rigorous. We believe the soldiers will present an amazing performance to the public."
The parade will present the country's latest-generation and homegrown weaponry, highlighting China's accomplishments in its defense sector during the past six decades.
