Tests showed the teenage Internet addict who died in a training camp was beaten to death, public security authorities in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region said on Tuesday.
Deng Senshan, a 15-year-old native of Ziyuan in Guilin City, was found dead on August 2 ten hours after he entered the Nanning-based Qihang Salvation Training Camp. He was sent to the camp one day before to get rid of his Internet addiction.
The autopsy performed by the Public Security of Nanjing City, the regional capital, showed Deng suffered soft tissue injuries which led to the stoppage of his breath and circulation system, police said.
Deng's family showed no disagreement with the report.
Police have detained 13 people who were suspected of inflicting intentional injuries and of illegally operating the camp.
The unlicensed camp was closed on August 7. A total of 122 trainees inside, all under 18, had been taken home by their parents.
