Five people are dead and four are missing after rainstorms triggered a landslide in east China's Zhejiang Province early on Friday, the local government said in a press release.
The landslide buried a three-story house, trapping at least 11 people shortly after midnight in the mountainous Lin'an City.
As of 9:00 AM, rescuers had recovered five bodies and pulled out two survivors, who were taken to hospital, but their conditions are unknown. The search for the missing is continuing.
The city suffered heavy rains on Thursday afternoon and, according to the weather bureau, the rainfall measured 88 mm in the two hours from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM alone.
Lin'an is in the northwest of Zhejiang Province and has a population of 510,000.
