China Radio International(CRI) launched a new service for mobile devices on Thursday in Beijing.

The CRImobile, a multimedia English website, was designed particularly for a wide range of mobile devices including Motorola’s martphones and Apple's iPhone.

The mobile phone users only need to log on M.CRI.CN whenever they may gain access to news, business, travel information, a Chinese language learning studio, and video and audio content produced by CRI online.

The CRI Director-General Wang Gengnian said they would strengthen interaction with the users, improve the service and try to be more entertainment-oriented, and more language services were expected to be added to the CRImobile soon.

Tian Jin, vice minister of the State Administration of Radio Film and television, and other 150-odd people attended the ceremony of launching the CRImobile.

The CRImobile began trial operation during the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, and attracted visitors from 168 countries and regions worldwide.
