China's youngest A/H1N1 flu patient, a 22-month-old baby girl, was discharged from a hospital in east China's Fujian Province on Thursday, local authorities said.

The baby girl, born in August 2007, left the Fuzhou Pulmonary Hospital accompanied by her grandmother with the approval of the provincial health bureau.

Her flu symptoms had disappeared, said Lin Zhongxuan, vice president of the hospital.

The infant was treated with oseltamivir, one of the most effective drugs used against the A/H1N1 virus, Lin said.

The little girl had been treated well, the grandmother told Xinhua.

The infant left the United States with her family on May 19 and arrived in Fuzhou, capital of Fujian, via Hong Kong. She was confirmed A/H1N1 positive on Sunday.

The number of A/H1N1 cases on the Chinese mainland had risen to13 as of Wednesday, according to the Ministry of Health.
