Heroes Received Awards from Charity Organization
The Capital Foundation for Justice and Courage, a non-government charity organization in Beijing, handed out for the first time awards to heroes who helped others in difficulties.

The Beijing Times reported on Friday that eight "good citizens of justice and courage", selected by the foundation, received 10,000 yuan each (about US$1,357.80).

The families of late Gao Fulang and Ma Yuxin were both awarded 100,000 yuan (about US$13,578).

Gao Fulang, a college student, saved a teammate from the swirls of the Yellow River but was drowned himself in 2006.

Ma Yuxin, a resident in western Beijing's Shijingshan District, helped a worker poisoned by biogas out of a sewer well at the cost of his own life last November.
