Senior Chinese Official on Improving Cultural Service in Rural Areas

A top official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) urged to build a comprehensive cultural service system in the rural areas as soon as possible to enrich farmers' cultural life and spread technology and health knowledge to them.

Li Chuangchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said during his inspection tour to southeastern Fujian Province that broadcasting and cable television signals should be extended to every village.

He also called for more efforts on building public libraries and community Internet cafes in order to provide a healthy cyber-space for minors.
