China Publishes Explanation Reader for Agricultural Development Document

China published an explanation reader for this year's No. 1 central government document issued in January, to help government officials at all levels to gain better understanding of agricultural work and to follow the document in their work.

The explanation reader published by the Office of the Central Leading Group on Rural Work, is now available at local bookstores across the country.

The No. 1 central government document was jointly issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the State Council. It aims to set up a permanent mechanism that can effectively boost rural development.

It is the fifth No. 1 central government document focused on agricultural development in a row since 2004.

It stresses adequate investment in infrastructure construction, job opportunities for farmers, and better social administration and public services in rural areas, with special focus on "a steady agricultural development and increase of annual income of Chinese farmers", said the document.
