Migrant Workers' Top Ten Cities

The top ten cities migrant workers prefer to live and work in are Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Qingdao, Xiamen, Suzhou, Wuxi and Wenzhou.

The Guangzhou-based Information Times reports CCTV and local media organizations asked migrant workers across China to nominate their favorite cities.

They nominated the top ten cities because they have efficiently worked to improve living conditions for migrant workers and protect their rights.

Increasing concerns have been raised over migrant workers' welfare in recent years. A wide range of people have urged the government to provide migrant workers with medical and work insurance.
