An aerial photo taken on Aug.8 shows the Qingdao Jiaozhou Bay Bridge under construction in Qingdao, of east China's Shandong Province. The link of the main body on Dec.22 marks the basic completion of the first phase. It is China's first bridge cluster project on the frozen waters of north China. It's the starting point of Qingdao-Lanzhou expressway of the national highway network and also the "One Bridge" among three planned by Qingdao municipality. With a total length of over 41.58 kilometers, it will shorten the distance between Qingdao and Huangdao by 30 kilometers, and be 20 minutes faster than the Jiaozhou Bay Superhighway. [Xinhua]
