A Yomari is seen during the celebrations of Yomari Punhi festival, festival of full moon, in Kathmandu, capital of Nepal, Dec. 21, 2010. Yomari Punhi is the festival of full moon day especially celebrated by Newars community in Nepal. Yomari is a sweetmeat dough made of rice flour from the new harvest, shaped like fish and filled with brown sugarcane and sesame seeds. Punhi is known as full moon day. According to Newari tradition, during this festival people of Kathmandu valley offer worship to Annapurna, the Goddess of food grains, for the rice harvest. [Xinhua]
