Wang, from Zhenshang Village, four hours' bus ride from Shijiazhuang, provincial capital of Hebei, became well-known nationwide for giving birth to five children, two boys and three girls, via Caesarean operation in one delivery at Beijing Maternity Hospital on March 4, 2002. A member of Buddhist Association of China gave names Fuqing, Fuli, Fuxin, Fusen and Fuyuan to the children. When the children were five months old, Wang gave Fuqing, a girl who is the eldest of the children, to her mother-in-law, the third child, also a girl, to her sister-in-law, and the fifth, a boy, to her mother to rear.
The children came to Beijing to go to a private kindergarten of a kind person for free when they were three years old. In 2008, they go to Experimental Primary School of Fengtai District in Beijing without any charges in the help of media.
Jiao Baocun had to work hard due to the heavy debt of raising the children, plus an operation on Fusen, the second-born child who was diagnosed with congenital colitis. Wang took care of the five children alone when they were in the kindergarten in Beijing. Jiao came to Beijing and run a donkey meat restaurant with his brother last year. The couple earned more than 2,000 yuan (US$240) a month. "Even we were in poor condition, but I feel very happy to see my children get education in Beijing. No matter what jobs they take in the future, I wish they will be beneficial to the society." said the father.
