Leukemia-afflicted Kid Regains Hope, Thanks to Premier Wen

The 2-year-old leukemia-afflicted kid Li Rui is fondled and kissed by his parents, at the Beijing Children's Hospital in Beijing, China's capital, on February 17, 2009. The mother of Li Rui, who took her kid to Tianjin seeking treatment for her kid but was severely frustrated for being cash-strapped, happened to meet Premier Wen Jiabao on his inspection tour of Tianjin at the Tianjin Railway Station. Learning about the mother was about to quit treatment for her child due to the lack of money and prepared to return home in Zhangjiakou of north China's Hebei Province, Premier Wen instructed members of his entourage to arrange treatment for Li Rui at a hospital in Beijing. Now, Li Rui has been hospitalized at the Beijing Children's Hospital, and the staff of the General Office of the State Council also mustered donated money to Li Rui's parents. [Xinhua]
