5050 Disaster-prone Places Listed

According to a Xinhua report on Friday, based on a six-year-long survey, China Geological Survey Bureau has listed 5050 places across the country as disaster-prone sites.

Meanwhile, local authorities in those areas have established emergency response plans to enhance their disaster management capabilities.

Every year natural disasters in China claim over 11 hundred lives and cause losses of some 6.4 billon yuan (about US$773 million).
