Twelve Chinese enterprises headed by Yueyang Paper Group have
finally won the anti-dumping lawsuit initiated by enterprises from
Canada, Republic of Korea (ROK) and US. On July 3, China will
continue to collect anti-dumping tariff on newsprint produced in
Canada, ROK and US in next five years.
This is first time for the domestic newsprint industry to win
anti-dumping case, says expert with the Hunan Provincial Department
of Commerce.
Aside from the Yueyang Paper Group, the Jilin Paper Co Ltd
Guangzhou Paper Co Ltd, Fujian Nanping Paper Co Ltd, Dongying
Huatai Paper Co Ltd and Chenming Paper Co Ltd participated in the
lawsuit. The 12 enterprises at present occupy 80 percent of
domestic market.
While the import of newsprint from Canada, ROK and US declines,
China's newsprint import from countries including Russia, Japan,
Scandinavian countries and Indonesia begins to rise.
