Free Medical Care for Elderly Residents in Shanghai

Ten medical volunteers supplied free health checks for seniors at the Social Welfare Institution of Jiading District, Shanghai on July 19.

In an-hour of face-to-face service, professionals in various fields patiently answered questions raised by seniors and wrote health notices involving internal medicine, surgery, orthopedics and ophthalmology.

This April, the Jiading branch of the Shanghai Charity Foundation cooperated with the social work station of Jiading Town Street to establish bases for volunteer public welfare. The Jiading Social Welfare Institution is one of the five bases.

It is estimated that 556 people participated in the volunteer service.
