Homosexual Volunteers Come to Fore in AIDS Combat

Disease prevention and control department in east China city of Ningbo has dropped a big bombshell -- inviting gays to join the volunteer team for anti-AIDS publicity.

The idea came after regular workers encountered resistance in a project aiming at the male homosexual group for AIDS prevention.

The administration will offer free AIDS test for the group and encourage them to use related protection, such as condoms.

Statistics show that male homosexuals make up the second largest AIDS infected group in China, behind drug addicts.
