Vice Premier Stresses Development of Urban Community Medical Service System

Governments at all levels should give priority to the development of community medical service system, Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi said in Beijing on Thursday.

Wu said the community medical service is a new type of health care system, which focuses on disease prevention and provides convenient service for urban residents.

She said the government had increased input in expanding medical service system, which saw more service items and improved service quality.

The vice premier urged relevant departments to strengthen the training of community doctors and nurses, establish a management and assessment system of community medical service to ensure the government's investment to be effectively used.
