Vice Premier Hopes China, Australia Expand Energy Cooperation

Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Dejiang on Wednesday called on China and Australia to expand energy cooperation on a basis of mutual benefits.

"I hope that both sides will continue to expand cooperation and raise the level of cooperation based on mutual benefits and win-win results," Zhang told Peter Cleary, president of the North West Shelf Australia LNG Pty Ltd, which has a large LNG cooperation project with China's Guangdong Province.

Zhang said the LNG project between Australia and Guangdong was the largest ever economic and trade cooperation project between China and Australia, and the success of this project was the result of joint efforts by the two governments and people from all circles of both countries.

Cleary briefed the implementation of the project and said his company was ready to further strengthen cooperation with China.
