5 Children in China Air Crash in Bad Condition

Doctors in Northeast China city of Harbin are making all-out efforts to treat five children who were injured in Tuesday night plane crash and they were described as in a "critical condition".
They are among the 15 severely injured people, all victims of the plane crash, who were late Wednesday sent from Yichun to Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang Province, for medical treatment.
"The coming 48 hours are the dangerous period," said Wang Yongchen, deputy head of the No. 1 Hospital affiliated to the Harbin Medical University.
Four of the children suffered heavy respiratory tract burns, said Wang, describing the condition of three of them as "very serious".
"We'll make all-out efforts to save them," Wang said.
The identity of the five children was not immediately known.
A passenger jet carrying 96 people crashed at the airport of Yichun City in Heilongjiang amid heavy fog late Tuesday night. 42 people were killed while the remaining 54 were injured.
