Injured People Receive Medical Treatment in Hospital

The major hospitals in Urumqi are receiving a huge number of patients..young and old.
Renmin hospital received 290 injured. Some people remain unconscious and in danger of losing their lives. The most seriously injured are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit. Over a thousand medical staff are working against the clock to save their lives. In the past 24 hours, they have operated to save at least 27 severely injured patients.
One Doctor of Urumqi Renmin Hospital said "After receiving timely treatment, three of my severely injured patients are now in a stable condition. But one patient remains in serious danger, and is dependent on our medical equipment and medicine."
Many patients are still in a lot of pain.
This man who runs a book store was brutally attacked with a knife. A mob slashed him in the neck three times. He's lucky to survive.
Doctors say most of the severely injured were attacked around the head or neck. Four people have died in the Friendship hospital and others in the Renmin hospital. Medical staff are doing what they can with the facilities available.
