On January 22nd, the design for Canadian national pavilion for Expo Shanghai was unveiled in Shanghai.
This design was completed by Canada Government in collaboration with the world famous, Cirque du Soleil. The Canada Pavilion is themed as "The Living City, Inclusive, Sustainable, and Creative".
Canada Pavilion is located in Zone C of Pudong area according to the layout of Expo site and has a planned area of 6,000 square meters. The pavilion is comprised of three large geometric structures and anchored by an open public area where the visitors can access to the pavilion or enjoy various cultural and artic performances.
Based on the design, Canada Pavilion is expected to attract up to 5.5 million visitors. In order to represent the recycling technology, the exterior wall of Canada Pavilion will be covered by a special kind of greenery and the rainwater will be recycled by a drainage system for use inside the pavilion. Large exhibits and articles are prohibited in the pavilion to maximize the exhibition space and secure the ventilation within exhibition area and open eye shot.
