Vietnam Reports 57th Death of A/H1N1 Flu

Vietnam confirmed one more death of A/H1N1 influenza, bringing the country's total number of flu deaths to 57 since its outbreak, said a report of Vietnam's Ministry of Heath on Friday.
The patient was a 31-year-old man from the northern Quang Ninh Province of Vietnam. He was reported positive to the HIV virus in 2003.
The patient showed the flu-like symptoms of fever and coughing on Jan. 15. Seven days later, he was taken to the National Institute of Infectious and Tropical Diseases with fever, coughing and difficulty in breathing.
His health conditions, especially his respiratory system, continued to get worse despite receiving treatment.
The patient died on January 24 due to pneumonia, deterioration of inner organs and HIV/AIDS. His sample tested positive to the A/ H1N1 influenza virus, said the ministry.
Vietnam has reported 11,166 cases of A/H1N1 influenza since its outbreak.
