Thailand's public health ministry Tuesday has urged Thais in the country's most risky groups to get vaccinated against the A/H1N1 influenza.

Starting from Monday, some two million doses of the vaccine against the new flu have been prepared and available for those among the most risky groups, Thai News Agency reported.

Thais might not been informed enough that the vaccination against the new flu is now available for free, Doctor Paijit Warachit, the public health permanent secretary said.

Also, Doctor Paijit said it is believed that some Thais have not yet alerted since the A/H1N1 flu outbreak is not much severe.

However, the ministry would like to invite Thais among the most risky groups to get vaccinated, the public health permanent secretary said.

The ministry targets that about 20,000 Thais across the country will be daily vaccinated, the public health permanent secretary said.

The people, who are viewed as the most risky groups, include medical staff, women with at least three-month pregance, people having overweight, disabled people, and those with chronic diseases.

The vaccination against the new flu for free will be available until the end of March, however, the vaccination's period for pregnant women is until May this year.

Last Wednesday, Thailand reported one more death case due to the A/H1N1 influenza, bringing the country's death toll from the new flu contraction to 192.

The latest victim was a pregnant woman, who had a history of having had diabetes and high blood pressure.
