A/H1N1 Flu Death Toll Reaches 112 in Egypt

Egypt Monday reported three more death cases of influenza A/H1N1, bringing the nationwide death toll to 109, said the Health Ministry in a statement.

A 61-year-old man in Cairo, another 40-year-old man and 34-year-old man in Giza died of A/H1N1 virus, said the statement.

Up till now, Egypt has reported more than 10,056 cases of the novel flu, according to the Health Ministry.

Egypt confirmed its first influenza A/H1N1 death on July 19. A young Egyptian woman, who was back from Saudi Arabia after making Umrah (pilgrimage to Mecca at any time of the year), died of the flu virus.

The most populous Arab country reported its first A/H1N1 flu case on June 2, an Egyptian-American girl coming from the United States via the Netherlands.
