A pig of a farm in central Thailand's Saraburi province was found infected with the A/H1N1 influenza, but it has already recovered, the Thai Public Health Ministry said Thursday.
The pig farm belongs to Saraburi's campus of Bangkok's Kasetsart University, Thai News Agency quoted Doctor Paijit Warachit, public health permanent secretary, as saying.
The pig got the new virus from vet students, who went to the farm for a training purpose, Doctor Paijit said.
Some students got contracted with the A/H1N1 virus but did not show flu symptoms and spread the disease to the pig, the doctor explained.
After having closely monitored some 127 people, including the staff of the farm and nearby villagers, for seven days, it is found they have not developed any flu-like symptom, he said.
On Wednesday, the ministry reported that the country had one more death case due to the A/H1N1 infection, bringing the country 's death toll from the new virus to 190.
