2,065 New A/H1N1 Cases Confirmed in Europe

A European health agency said Friday that 2,065 new A/H1N1 flu cases were reported in European countries within the last 24 hours.
Of the new cases, 594 were confirmed in Germany, 558 in Britain, 395 in Netherlands, 263 in Italy, 71 in Norway, 44 in Portugal, 37in Switzerland, 26 in Luxemburg, 18 in Denmark, 10 in Romania, nine respectively in Iceland and Slovenia, six in Hungary, three in Estonia, three respectively in Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary, two respectively in Slovakia and Bulgaria, the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) said in its daily situation report.
The total number of confirmed cases of the H1N1 flu virus in the European Union (EU) and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries rose to 32,375, with 1,538 cases in Spain and 12,470 in Britain, 880 in France and 9,213 in Germany, the ECDC said.
The ECDC publishes a daily situation report about the H1N1 flu cases in the EU and EFTA countries based on official information from these countries.
