The number of confirmed cases of influenza A/H1N1 in New Zealand reached 2,810 on Saturday, a jump of 13 on Friday, the Ministry of Health said on Saturday.

The number of deaths from influenza A/H1N1 remained at 13, said director of public health Mark Jacobs.

Jacobs said the World Health Organization was no longer issuing tables showing the numbers of confirmed cases for all countries.

"This is because there are an increasing number of cases in many countries, including New Zealand, which is making it extremely difficult to confirm laboratory testing in an accurate and timely manner," he said.
