More A/H1N1 infections were confirmed in Greece on Monday, with the number of cases rising by about 35 on a daily basis, according to Greek TV NET.

Two new cases were reported among the navy personnel, it said.

Greek Health Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos said at the weekend that the entire population of Greece will be vaccinated against the virus if needed, adding that the vaccine will be free of charge.

Avramopoulos said the key guidelines of an updated national action plan against the pandemic will be released in the coming days.

More than 520 cases of the flu virus have been confirmed in Greece so far, but experts believe that the actual number of infected patients could be much higher.

Authorities are bracing for more cases of the virus to be brought into Greece by some of the millions of visitors coming to spend their vacations in the country this summer.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Greece (KEELPNO) has issued guidelines on how the spread of the virus can be prevented on trains, ships and in hotels.

KEELPNO has advised officials to set aside areas where potential patients can be placed in isolation.
